High-current connectors are required wherever currents of 160A to 600A with a voltage of 230V – 1000V must be safely transmitted – for example, in tunnel construction, mining, the railway industry, or maritime applications. They ensure reliable power supply even under extreme conditions.

For currents below 160A, CEE connectors from 16A to 125A are used.

All high-current connectors fully comply with IEC 60309-1/2. This standard is used by numerous connector manufacturers such as Mennekes, Bals, PCE, Walther-Werke, and Amphenol for CEE connectors from 16A to 125A.

All high-current connectors are voltage-coded, have IP67 or IP55 protection ratings, and are equipped with finger protection. This ensures maximum safety, reliability, and protection against moisture, dust, and electric shock.

Maintenance of the high-current connectors is very simple, quick, and tool-friendly. Most components can be replaced with a standard Allen key. Pins and sockets, in particular, which can be damaged in demanding applications, can be easily replaced from the front without completely opening the connector. This typically saves up to 30 minutes of time.

This makes it possible to meet specific requirements in railway, mining, harbor, or other industrial applications. Upon request additional customized solutions are possible.

The DIN EN/IEC 60309 standard is an international standard for plugs and sockets, cable couplings, and appliance couplers intended primarily for industrial use (with rated operating voltages up to 1,000 V, 500 Hz, and rated currents up to 125 A). Part 1 of the standard describes the general requirements for every connector used in industry. Part 2 specifies a range of connectors with round housings and different numbers and arrangements of contact pins for various applications. Our CEE connectors are manufactured according to this standard.
